October 1 to November 15, 2019
Are you enrolled in SERS’ health care coverage? If so, Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review and make changes to your SERS coverage for 2020. It also is your opportunity to enroll in or cancel dental or vision coverage.
Open Enrollment packets will be mailed in late September. If you do not receive your packet by October 1, please Health Care Services toll-free at 800-878-5853 or email email@example.com.
New in 2020
- The Paramount Elite Medicare Plan will not be offered in 2020. Effective January 1, 2020, Paramount Elite enrollees will be automatically enrolled in the Aetna Medicare Plan (PPO). Express Scripts will continue to be the prescription drug plan.
- At retail, the preferred insulin co-pay will be $25 under the Express Scripts (Aetna Medicare, Aetna Choice, and Aetna Traditional Choice) prescription drug plan.
- The Aetna Medicare Plan (PPO) will cover wigs at 100% for cancer patients when accompanied by a doctor’s prescription.
- The federal pilot program that allows SERS to offer the Marketplace Wraparound Plan is set to expire at the end of 2019. SERS Health Care and Government Relations staff are continuing to work with federal officials to extend the Wraparound pilot program into 2020. We anticipate that either we will obtain approval to continue this program, or we will offer an alternative plan that provides similar benefits by covering some out-of-pocket costs for federal Marketplace enrollees.
