Non-Filers Must Provide Information by October 15 to Receive Stimulus Payment by End of the Year

Have you received your Economic Impact Payment yet? If not, you may be considered a “non-filer.”

You are a non-filer if:

  • Your income is less than $12,200
  • You’re married filing jointly and together your income is less than $24,400
  • You have no income
  • You do not normally file a federal tax return

To be eligible for an Economic Impact Payment, you must have a valid Social Security number and cannot be claimed as a dependent under another taxpayer.

We encourage you to check with your family, friends, and elderly neighbors to make sure they have received their stimulus payment.

If you or someone you know has not yet received payment, eligible non-filers must provide information by October 15 to ensure payment by the end of the year. Information can be submitted on the IRS’s website. Otherwise, non-filers can receive payment by filing a 2020 tax return.
