America Saves Week: Own Your Financial Story

It’s important to do an occasional financial check-in to get a clear idea of where your finances are, where you want them to be, and what changes you can make to get them there. Enter: America Saves Week.

America Saves Week (ASW) is an annual call to action to evaluate personal finances and commit to saving successfully, and it takes place this week.

Throughout the week, the organization will focus on the following themes:

Monday – Building a Strong Foundation

Every great financial story starts with a strong foundation. Focus on the basics: planning, saving, and building habits you can count on.

Need some savings ideas? ASW offers 54 ways to save money that will get you thinking like a saver.

Tuesday – Expect the Unexpected

It’s a good idea to have an emergency fund for unexpected emergencies, such as a broken furnace or car repairs, or opportunities, like a last-minute getaway. Setting up a short-term savings account will help prevent you from dipping into everyday or long-term savings.

Wednesday – Dream Big, Plan With Purpose

An overwhelming part of saving is determining how much to save for several competing priorities. Big goals require more planning. The good news is there are many ways to plan and save in ways that fit into your current situation. By breaking down what matters most, you can create clear, achievable goals and take intentional steps that build momentum over time.

Thursday – Rewrite the Debt Narrative

Debt is just one chapter in your financial story. It doesn’t define you.

Every payment you make, no matter how small, puts you one step closer to financial freedom and confidence.

Check out these tips from ASW for ways to own and rewrite your debt narrative.

Friday – Your Story, Your Future

Financial freedom doesn’t happen overnight. It starts with small, regular habits that add up over time.

You are never too young to learn good financial hygiene, and you’re never to old to make positive changes and break cycles when it comes to your finances.
