U.S. Government Shutdown Will Not Affect SERS Services

The federal government has shut down, but SERS members and retirees can expect business as usual. Member and employer contributions will continue to be processed and benefit payments also will be processed and delivered on time.

Government services that will not be affected include:

• Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid
• The U.S. Postal Service
• Veterans hospitals and benefits
• Air traffic control and TSA
